Meet Paul Bond: Rodeo Rider. Bootmaker. Legend.
Before he was buildin’ boots for legends, Paul Bond was makin’ a name for himself in the rodeo arena. Born with dust on his boots and fire in his heart, Paul knew what the cowboy needed on his feet — a boot that worked as hard as he did, and looked damn good doin’ it. So he built ‘em himself, one stitch at a time.
“Build a good boot, and the good people will come.”

1946 The first pair
Paul Bond opens his bootmaking shop in Nogales, Arizona after retiring from the rodeo circuit. He crafts boots one-by-one, by hand — just the way he learned from the old-timers.
1957 Word Spreads Like Wildfire
Ranchers, rodeo champs, and working cowboys from across the Southwest start showing up to Nogales for Paul’s legendary custom boots.
1965 Hollywood Takes Notice
The boots make their way onto sets of Western films. Paul Bond becomes the goto bootmaker for costume designers and stars.
1973 John Wayne Orders a Pair
The Duke himself walks into Paul’s shop. It’s a turning point — Paul Bond boots are now a staple for the big screen and real-life cowboys alike.
1980 Expansion Without Compromise
Demand grows, but Paul refuses to cut corners. The Boot Barn in Nogales grows in size, but every boot is still made by hand, start to finish.
2005 Paul Bond Rides On
Paul Bond passes away, leaving behind a legacy stitched into every boot he ever made. The barn keeps on kickin’ in his honor.
2010s Boots for the Next Generation
Celebrities, musicians, and artists discover Paul Bond’s custom creations — not for fame, but for the realness. Custom orders flood in from across the country.
2020s Revival of the Western Soul
The brand embraces a new era: preserving tradition, expanding online, and welcoming a new wave of boot lovers into the Bondfire
community.
